Jordan Nelson  Composer, Pianist, Conductor

Jordan would like to thank everyone who made his experience at the 2010 Chamber Music Conference and Composers’ Forum of the East such a rewarding and inspiring time.  The premiere of Jordan’s Linnaeus to Lapland, commissioned for the occasion, was a great success, as were the many other composer-performer interactions throughout the week.  For more information on the Conference, visit their website.

Postcards, music for an installation, is shaping up for a late September opening in Los Angeles.  The project is a collaboration between painter/curator Kira Shewfelt, vocalist Mallory Glaser, and Jordan.  Check back for more information on the installation’s opening soon!

A recording of the recent premiere of Apollo’s Love Songs, premiered by Brandon Brack and the USC Thornton Apollo Men’s Choir, is now online.  Check it out!

Finally, Jordan is pleased to announce a self-released 10 track album of electronic and electro-acoustic music entitled Oxnard Turtlebaum.  The project, which finds Jordan going by his middle name ‘Oliver’, includes some previously posted tracks as well as some new material, with influences ranging from ambient electronica to mash-up.  To listen to the entire album, visit the Oxnard Turtlebaum page.
